Hi, my name is ABDIEL, or you can call me AB-dee-ehl.
Becoming a photographer was something that I didn't plan at all. I grew up in Cidra, Puerto Rico, but in 2018 I decided to move to New York City, and it was my new home for 3 years until I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I'm a full-time accountant, and sometimes, or most of the time, it can be stressful like any other job. One day, I thought, "You need to have a new hobby besides traveling" and I've always shown interest in photography. A few days later, I decided to buy a camera and take this new journey as a hobby to disconnect from the routine. I did my research and everything and ended up buying my lovely NIKON D5300.
After months, I can say almost a year later, my camera was in my room looking at me like, "When are you going to take me to discover this world". I called a friend and said: "Let’s go out, want to try my camera". Even today, I still remember when I took those first photos in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I started to see the world from another perspective, like watching the world through a new pair of lenses and discovering new colors, ideas, and ways to express myself and others. Since that moment, I haven't stopped learning more about photography, traveling, and taking pictures every time or anywhere.
Now, for me, it is not just about taking a picture; it is about capturing a moment, a feeling, a place, or an expression. It's about telling a story with just one picture.
I hope you guys enjoy my portfolio!
“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.”
